Recently, CLP's photovoltaic power station was formally connected to the grid to become Hami's first large-scale photovoltaic power station connected to the grid for power generation.

The total investment of the 20,000 KW concession photovoltaic project invested by CLP is 326 million, with an annual average generating capacity of more than 30 million kWh, and the franchise period is 25 years. The power plants all use polycrystalline silicon solar cell modules and inverters with high energy conversion rates and mature technologies to achieve effective use of resources. Niu Chunhui, director of the CLP's Hami Photovoltaic Power Plant, told reporters that the conversion efficiency of polysilicon in solar panels can reach a maximum of about 13%. Solar energy in the Hami region is relatively abundant, and solar energy power stations can generate great economic benefits after being put into operation.

As one of the regions with the most abundant solar energy resources in the Xinjiang region, the total sunshine hours in the Hami region have reached a maximum of 3,380 hours, and they have superior solar power generation conditions. CLP's 20,000-kilowatt concession photovoltaic project is the fastest-growing and largest photovoltaic power station project in Xinjiang, and the commissioning of the power station has become the first demonstration project of Hami's thermal development.

Up to now, there have been companies such as CPI, China Guangdong Nuclear Power, Guodian, and Huadian investing in photovoltaic projects in Hami. Two photovoltaic power plants, CPI and China Guangdong Nuclear Power, will be built this year, with a total installed capacity of 40 megawatts. By 2015, the installed capacity of Hami PV power is expected to reach 1 million kilowatts, and the installed capacity will reach 3.6 million kilowatts by 2020.
