TE Connectivity (TE) introduced two cables developed specifically for charging electric vehicles. The two cable products are designed for high mechanical performance and high temperature performance requirements. These two versions include: electric car charging cable with PVC jacket for indoor use and TPE jacket for outdoor use and Extremely soft temperature cables with extreme temperature conditions. The issuance of these two types of cables means that TE can provide corresponding cable products for different geographical environments worldwide. The two products will be exhibited at the 2011 PLUG-IN exhibition in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The new electric vehicle charging cable can be used in private or public electric vehicle charging stations, and is in compliance with UL62 and NEC 400&625 standards. In other words, the cable designed by TE using wires, insulation and sheathing material is extremely perfect, and it can provide excellent performance even under extreme conditions such as high temperature fluctuations and mechanical and chemical influences. All materials are cold-resistant, heat-resistant, wear-resistant and flame-retardant. TPE-sheathed cables are particularly good at cold resistance and maintain their flexibility even at low temperatures of minus 30 degrees Celsius or minus 22 degrees Fahrenheit. Both cables have passed extensive tests and their good performance has been confirmed. These tests include UL62 cold bending test, UL1277 cold shock and compression test, and VW-1 flame test. The test results show that the cable product has better performance than similar products in the industry. This is TE's durable, safe, high-quality product for customers such as charging station manufacturing companies, automotive OEMs, and public infrastructure suppliers.

The new cable is available in a variety of colors and can be personalized. It can also be customized according to the customer's design or other Special requirements. Eric Freid, TE's marketing director, said: "These cables are the first new products TE has provided for the electric vehicle charging market. These new products are all concerned with safety and reliability issues, and this will bring great benefits to users. interest."
