At present, domestic LED chip manufacturers Sanan Optoelectronics, Dehao Runda, Aoyang Shunchang, etc. have released quarterly reports, the performance is red, and the performance of Taiwanese enterprises is sluggish. Jingdian, Ronda is expected to fall. Due to the weak demand for backlights, the rapid decline in lighting products, and the oversupply of new capacity in the mainland, Taiwan’s performance has been hit hard.
A few days ago, Aoyang Shunchang announced the third quarterly report: from January to September, the total operating income was 1.165 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%, and the net profit attributable to listed companies was 180 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 50.9%. Aoyang Shunchang said that the profit growth was mainly due to the LED business contribution.
On the evening of October 26, Hongli Optoelectronics released the third quarterly report. The report shows that the company's third quarter operating income reached 441 million yuan, an increase of 69.16% over the same period of the previous year, net profit of 46.233 million yuan, an increase of 98.15%.
Sanan Optoelectronics reported that the first three quarters (January-September) achieved revenue of 3.602 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.56%. The net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 1.447 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.82%. The net profit for the first three quarters of 2015 was almost the same as the net profit for the full year of 2014 of 1.462 billion yuan.
In the first three quarters, Dehao Runda also achieved operating income of 1.29 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.70%; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 0.46 billion yuan, an increase of 23.16%.
The LED business situation of Taiwanese enterprises continued the weak trend in the previous months. The growth rate of revenue growth, the year-on-year and the annual cumulative year-on-year showed a downward trend. In the second quarter of this year, Jingdian was affected by factors such as monitor market inventory adjustment, panel boom correction, weak backlight demand, rapid decline in lighting products, and oversupply of LEDs due to new capacity in the mainland. The capacity utilization rate in the second quarter of 2015 dropped to 70%. The water level, not only the revenue and gross profit margin decline, the industry turned losses, but also a small loss after tax. It is estimated that the third quarter revenue will be reduced by 10% in the quarter, and the industry is expected to continue to lose.
Taiwan’s Ronda’s chairman Su Fengzheng and Jingdian’s general manager Zhou Mingjun believe that Taiwan’s LED industry will only grow moderately in the second half of this year. In response to the price war launched by Philips in April, Su Feng is still judging that the supply chain still needs to adjust the season by one to two seasons. However, this year should be the bottom of the valley; Zhou Mingjun expects that Jingdian will be better than this year next year. According to the two giants, the Taiwan factory LED industry will bottom out this year.
In this environment, Taiwanese companies are actively responding to the adjustments, and it is expected that the industry's revenue will be optimistic next year. In the unfavorable competitive environment in which foreign lighting manufacturers took the lead in price wars, the domestic LED chip factory supply chain has risen. In the future, the competition for LED chips will become more intense. It is still unknown whether Taiwanese factories and factories win or lose.
