Designing an NVIDIA-developed custom graphics driver for Chinese Internet cafe users

Recently, NVIDIA released a customized WHQL certification driver for China's diskless Internet cafe users. It is also the first custom driver that NVIDIA has passed WHQL certification. This driver is based on the 275.33 version of the drive for Internet cafes diskless environment It has been optimized to support various Internet cafes such as RichTech, NetZone, I-cafe8, MZD, and E-You. The diskless management system supports NVIDIA GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 series desktop GPUs. The driver package also includes the 3D Vision Controller driver.

On the performance side, compared to the 270.61 WHQL driver, this version of the driver can increase the performance of the NVIDIA GeForce 400 and 500 series GPUs on multiple PC games. The following are some of the game's measured data for the most commonly used Windows XP operating systems and Microsoft's latest Windows 7 operating system at China Internet Cafe. Depending on the user's GPU model and system configuration, the results may vary:

NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 on Windows XP:

- In the case of resolution 1080P, 8x sampling, the game effect is "best", the performance of the game "World of Warcraft" is increased by more than 2 times when the game is heavily loaded.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 on Windows 7:

- Maximum performance increase of 6% in Crysis 2

- Up to 8% performance in Portal 2

- Up to 14% performance improvement in "Batman: Arkham Asylum" (PhysX Settings: Advanced)

- Up to 15% increase in performance in Bulletstorm (anti-aliasing enabled)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 on Windows 7:

- Maximum performance increase of 4% in Crysis 2

- Up to 5% performance improvement in Civilization V (using NVIDIA SLI configuration)

- Up to 9% performance improvement in Portal 2

- Up to 13% performance improvement in Bulletstorm (anti-aliasing enabled)

- Up to 15% performance improvement in "Batman: Arkham Asylum" (PhysX Settings: Advanced)
