Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) today announced that its circuit simulator will introduce a local environment for simulation management and analysis. This environment is available for the 2016.03 version of the HSPICE®, FineSim® and CustomSimTM simulators, providing a comprehensive solution that increases the productivity of simulation verification. The included solution gives designers full access to advanced features available for Synopsys SPICE and FastSPICE simulators and eliminates the need for third-party environments. As an early partner of Synopsys, Samsung Electronics' system LSI business places a premium on the new environment with FineSim SPICE and has deployed it in its analog design community.
The advanced node design must be able to adapt to a variety of different voltage and operating conditions and have multiple modes of operation. In order to verify the circuit under different operating conditions, the design team performed thousands of simulation experiments and needed to sort out a large amount of data. To cope with this increasingly complex situation, Synopsys has developed a GUI-based transistor-level integrated simulation and analysis environment. This environment is deeply integrated with its circuit simulator and eliminates the need for third-party environments.
The main features of the environment include:
· Network list-based streams that can be imported directly into SPICE, Verilog, and DSPF
· Uniform corner setting for sweeping multiple test platforms and Monte Carlo analysis
· Advanced task allocation and monitoring for batch mode simulation
· Integrated with Synopsys' Custom WaveViewTM graphical waveform viewer for wide range of waveform post processing
· Automated regression using industry standard TCL scripting language
· Language-sensitive text editor for web-based list-based navigation, cross-probing, and syntax checking
Advanced visual data navigation and data mining capabilities such as charting, statistical analysis, histograms, and scatter plots
· Detailed report generation, including web-based HTML documents

On Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 10:00 am PST, Synopsys will open a webinar for the first time entitled "Using Synopsys Simulation and Analysis Environment (SAE) to Improve Simulation Verification Productivity." It lasted an hour. This webinar includes the introduction of SAE and its key features to increase productivity and throughput. Altera will highlight its use of SAE's analysis and validation capabilities to improve its advanced node design productivity. This webinar can be viewed on demand during 2016.
