21ic News Silicon Labs has announced the introduction of the TouchXpress family of fixed-function controllers, providing the industry's fastest and easiest way to add low-power capacitive touchscreens to embedded designs. Silicon Labs' powerful CPT007B and CPT112S TouchXpress controllers eliminate the need for time-consuming firmware development and provide a simple turnkey solution for adding stylish touch-based user interface designs to a wide range of products. New TouchXpress fixed function device
In order to meet the growing demand for capacitive sensing and touch functions in embedded systems, Silicon Labs has introduced two TouchXpress family members:
CPT007B GPIO switch replacement devices enable developers to quickly replace up to seven mechanical buttons with capacitive touch sensors without the need for firmware development. The GPIO interface directly provides on/off Sensor status to the host processor.
· The CPT112S Capacitive Sensing I2C device supports up to 12 sensor inputs, greatly simplifying the complexity of adding capacitive sensing to touch interfaces.
