At the 2015 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) stated that the use of the 694MHz-790MHz band for mobile broadband would be of great help in bridging the digital divide worldwide.

Foreign governments and operators have gradually taken action and the digital dividend of 700 MHz has begun to be gradually utilized.

In Germany, the auction was first launched in May 2015 and ended in mid-June. From the auction situation, 700MHz is the most popular frequency band. Deutsche Telekom's 700MHz will be used for rural area network coverage, and it is indicated from 2019. The band will be fully utilized from the beginning of the year.

At the end of 2015, France auctioned the spectrum for 700MHz, and the first day of auction auction exceeded 2.7 billion euros. The operator's pursuit of 700MHz is evident.

The British government also recently stated that it will invest 550 million pounds in the next five years to clean up the 700MHz band and use this spectrum for mobile broadband.

In South Korea, due to the growing tension between mobile operators and broadcasters, the Korean communications regulator KCC also hopes to have a retire strategy for the release of 700MHz.

Singapore is also considering releasing the 700MHz spectrum, and IDA, the country's information and communication control agency, plans to allocate a total of 225MHz of spectrum resources in early 2016, including the 700MHz band.

Domestic 700MHz dragging the pace is too slow

Compared with the rapid layout of the global 700MHz band, even in March 2015, Taiwan’s big brother officially obtained the additional 5MHz 700MHz 4G band approved by the NCC, and the mainland is slightly behind.
