In certain CPU modules of the Siemens S7-300 and S7-400 series PLCs, there are additional communication configuration options beyond the basic parameters. When you access the settings, you will see a window with three distinct configuration areas: “PG Communication”, “Operation Panel Communication (OP Communication)”, and “S7 Standard Communication (S7 Standard)” (refer to Figure 14-2.11 for visual reference).

Each of these communication sections allows you to define the number of connections required for external devices.
