NXP Semiconductors NV (NASDAQ: NXPI) and Kontron Corporation, a subsidiary of S&T Technologies, have entered into a strategic partnership to combine NXP’s Arm®-based i.MX and Layerscape processor families with Kontron’s hardware platforms. This collaboration aims to deliver advanced Industry 4.0 solutions by integrating software expertise with cutting-edge hardware. The joint effort leverages Microsoft Azure IoT and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies to support next-generation industrial IoT applications, enabling cloud, edge computing, and factory floor innovations.
The new Industry 4.0 solution features Kontron’s SMARC 2.0 and Q7 computer modules based on the i.MX 8 processor. Additionally, Kontron plans to introduce modules using the Layerscape SoC, including the LS1028, to support its Industrial 4.0 Edge Gateway and customers in late 2018 designs. This expansion is expected to enhance performance, scalability, and flexibility for industrial applications.
Kontron and S&T CTO Laurent Remont commented, “With these computer modules and edge gateway solutions, Kontron customers can leverage NXP’s latest technology to speed up project prototyping and reduce time to market. Early collaboration with NXP allows us to deliver superior IoT and edge computing solutions that drive innovation.â€
With over three decades of experience in developing industrial PCs, gateways, servers, and embedded systems, Kontron provides a unique software integration service that offers pre-integrated solutions for IoT and embedded applications. The company also enables OEMs and developers to utilize the Microsoft Azure IoT Edge framework to create and deploy cloud applications at the edge, enhancing both efficiency and performance.
Tareq Bustami, Senior Vice President of NXP Digital Networks, stated, “By combining NXP’s technology with Kontron/S&T’s hardware and software expertise, we are able to offer our mutual customers faster time-to-market. We are excited about this collaboration and the impact it will have on the next generation of industrial technology.â€
As a leader in embedded technology, NXP serves a wide range of markets with a comprehensive and scalable portfolio of Arm-based processors. These solutions help develop and deploy the right edge intelligence for Industry 4.0 and IoT applications. NXP also brings extensive experience in connected industrial applications and security, along with a strong product continuity policy that ensures stability for at least 10–15 years after launch.
Drew Henry, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Arm Infrastructure, added, “Industry 4.0 demands efficient edge intelligence, and ARM-based SoCs like NXP’s i.MX and Layerscape families deliver high performance with low power consumption. Integrating such innovative technology into system-level solutions from industry leaders like Kontron helps accelerate the realization of Industry 4.0 across the board.â€
158mm Mono Solar Panel
In the case of the competition between 182mm and 210mm and the decline of 158mm, Sunket still retains a 158mm production line to meet the needs of customers.
Their exceptional low-light and high-temperature performance enables more flexibility in installation and mounting. Mono PERC may not be suitable for all types of solar projects. However, they are optimal for residential rooftop installations, where faster ROI and lower installation costs are the driving factors.
The standard monocrystalline cell presents a uniform back surface field (BSF), whereas the mono PERC Solar Cell presents local BSF atop passivation and SINx capping layers, which significantly improves the capture of light and electrons.
Your solar panels need to be exposed to sunlight in order to produce power. However, unless you live somewhere with high amounts of smog, dust, dirt or sand blowing around, Solar Panel cleaning is generally not necessary.
How long do solar panels last?
But the solar panels generating that power don't last forever. The industry standard life span is about 25 to 30 years, and that means that some panels installed at the early end of the current boom aren't long from being retired.
