One of the key components of this platform is the intelligent robot "Xiao Medicine," developed by Keda Xunfei. Dr. Xu Geliang, dean of Anhui Provincial Hospital, mentioned that since "Xiao Medicine" joined the hospital in June, it has studied 53 medical textbooks—equivalent to all the materials doctors typically learn—and numerous additional datasets. Currently, it supports scheduling in 47 departments, provides 618 location navigations, 607 functional location navigations, and answers over 260 common medical questions. Within just one month of being operational, Xiao Medicine handled 4,905 consultations, increasing its correct answer rate from 81% to 90.81%.
Dr. Xu also disclosed plans to deploy 10 more "Xiao Medicine" robots to accelerate its learning process and enhance its intelligence. Another notable feature of the platform is its ability to diagnose lung CT images using AI. Since last year, Anhui Provincial Hospital has collaborated with Keda Xunfei to develop an AI medical image-assisted diagnosis system. Over the past year, this system has processed 680,000 lung CT images, aiding doctors in diagnosing approximately 11,000 patients. The diagnostic accuracy rate reached 94%, surpassing human fatigue levels while maintaining high precision.
This AI-driven clinic will also benefit smaller hospitals. By connecting to Anhui Medical Imaging Cloud and the provincial hospital’s teleconsultation platform, 41 county-level hospitals in Anhui can access AI-assisted diagnoses for chest CTs and mammograms. During the initial testing phase, the platform reviewed around 1.5 million chest CT images of over 10,000 patients and provided more than 500 quality inspection recommendations.
"The potential of this platform is immense," Xu Geliang added, noting that it has already processed 20,000 mammography images and approximately 200,000 brain MRI scans. These advancements hold great promise for diagnosing breast cancer and studying Alzheimer's disease.
AI voice technology is also being extensively utilized in various hospital settings, including ward rounds and ultrasound exams. Now, doctors can quickly input patient information orally instead of manually, saving hours of work. Additionally, doctors can use the "Cloud Medical Sound" mobile app to monitor patient records and generate round-robin notes instantly, boosting productivity. Currently, nearly 1,000 doctors in the hospital rely on this app daily.
