According to Memes Consulting, Memjet has made history by entering the inkjet technology market for the first time. Recently, the company introduced a groundbreaking digital printing platform called Duralink. This innovative system features long-lasting printheads, durable pigmented inks, and flexible modules, offering OEM partners a fast, efficient, and cost-effective solution tailored for commercial, packaging, and industrial printing applications. At the PRINT 17 trade show in Chicago from September 10th to 14th, Memjet will present both its latest and previous inkjet technologies.
Eric Owen, General Manager of Commercial Printing at Memjet, stated, “Our goal is to develop an inkjet technology that delivers high-quality, high-speed, and cost-effective performance in mass production. To stay competitive, this technology must keep up with the rapid changes in the industry. Duralink meets the needs of commercial, packaging, and industrial markets by integrating long-life printheads, pigment inks capable of reaching a maximum print width of 100 inches (2.5 m), and a range of functional modules designed to meet speed and cost requirements.â€
A key feature of Duralink is its redundant nozzle design. The printhead contains 70,400 nozzles, with five times the redundancy compared to conventional systems. Each pixel is printed using five nozzles simultaneously, so even if one fails, the image remains largely unaffected. This level of redundancy enhances reliability, extends printhead life, and reduces maintenance needs, leading to higher machine utilization. Additionally, printing companies no longer have to invest in extra print bars or complex monitoring systems to achieve similar results.
Owen added, “Business reports highlight the advantages of inkjet technology, which simplifies the printing process while meeting high customer quality standards. For large-volume print runs, the benefits of Duralink become even more apparent. It boosts productivity and offers easier implementation than previous cost-cutting methods.â€
Duralink’s modular design allows OEMs to create customized printing solutions for specific applications. These standardized modules provide systemic capabilities for fluid management, maintenance, and data channel control, ensuring stability and flexibility. This makes it easier for OEM partners to build custom presses with print widths ranging from 8.5 inches (220 mm) to 100 inches (2500 mm), operating at speeds up to 668 feet per minute (203 meters per minute). The system supports one to eight colors, simplex or duplex printing, and delivers print quality comparable to offset printing with resolutions up to 1600 x 1585 dpi.
Moreover, Duralink is more cost-effective than other printhead technologies. The availability of these modules enables OEM partners to develop powerful inkjet solutions at lower costs, tailored to specific market demands.
Duralink also delivers top-tier speed and quality, making it ideal for commercial, packaging, and industrial printing. Its pigment-based ink platform ensures durability across a wide range of applications.
Looking ahead, Eric Owen said, “The printing industry is opening up new opportunities. But to take advantage of them, printers need reliable solutions that ensure high-quality output at scale. With the launch of Duralink, Memjet is helping printers seize these opportunities and better prepare for the future.â€

The mechanical Buzzer uses a magnet to move a reed up and down quickly to emit a lower-pitch buzz! It's quieter than the piezoelectric buzzer but uses more power, so you the terminals will have to be closer to the battery packs. To use them, you'll need to match the wire colors to the wires from the battery pack.
