Recently, I've been on the lookout for a 55-inch TV, primarily to enjoy high-definition movies. Over the past few years, I've been waiting for fiber-optic broadband to be available in my neighborhood, and I've even collected dozens of 4K movies, but I haven't had the chance to watch them yet. My needs for a TV go beyond just a large screen and good picture quality. I want it to support my movie sources effortlessly, and more importantly, the system should be smooth, user-friendly, and bring me convenience in daily use. If you're someone who shares similar needs, I believe this TV won’t disappoint you.
**First, Unboxing**

The TV came in a large, white box made from high-quality colored cardboard, not the usual flimsy cardboard. The front of the box features a big “CHiQ†logo, with a bee-like robot next to it, indicating that this is an AI-powered TV from Changhong.

The box includes several warnings about handling the screen carefully. I received the Star Blue version, but there's also a Moonlight Silver option available.

Inside, the packaging uses iron buttons for better protection, which is more secure than simple plastic wrapping.

Once opened, the TV is well-protected by thick foam padding. The two stands are placed on top and are easy to handle, making installation and packing straightforward.

Both stands are wrapped in paper bags, and yellow and white tapes help distinguish the left and right legs for easier setup. The stands are heavy and made from high-strength aviation aluminum, showing excellent craftsmanship and a smooth finish.

The package includes manuals, warranty cards, remote controls, power cords, batteries, wall brackets, screws, and base components.

When installing the stand, it's recommended to move the TV with the screen facing down and use the provided air cushion to protect the display.

Looking at the back of the TV, there’s a power connector, four-way keys, and various interfaces: network port, digital audio output, two HDMI ports, red and white AV inputs, and a reserved antenna port. On the right side, there are two USB ports (one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0) for easy connectivity.

The stand is inserted into the corresponding hole and secured with four screws. Pay attention to the octagonal orientation of the anti-slip part.

In addition to air cushions and plastic covers, the screen is protected by a final layer of plastic film, which is removed before use.

With a 55-inch screen, the size is just right, and the screen-to-body ratio is impressive. The all-metal narrow frame gives the TV a modern and stylish look.
**Second, Boot Wizard**

On the first boot, you need to set up a wireless network, log in, select your region, and install some apps. The process is step-by-step and cannot be skipped, which is quite user-friendly. After setup, the system will prompt you to update, which is recommended and takes only a short time.
**Third, Remote Control Design**

The remote control feels great, with a streamlined design that improves grip comfort. Its color scheme—red, white, and gray—gives it a premium feel, like high-end skincare products. It's not the typical black-and-white remote; it's elegant and sophisticated.
**Fourth, Picture Quality Performance**

Changhong has launched two series: Q5N and Q5A. The Q5N focuses on AI experience, while the Q5A uses OLED backlight technology. This 55-inch Q5N uses a standard LED backlight with a 4K AAA+ panel, but the image quality is impressive.

This screen features 4096 dot matrix light control technology, allowing precise brightness adjustment in different scenes. It significantly reduces light leakage, achieving near-OLED black levels without the backlight shining through.

With 4K resolution and HDR technology, details like hair and fabric textures are vividly restored. You can even see individual strands of hair! HDR enhances dynamic range, revealing more detail in dark scenes.

The TV also features the original color true color engine, accurately restoring color signals and delivering natural color transitions. Its color gamut coverage is impressive.

The MEMC motion compensation technology boosts frame rates from 25 to 60, resulting in smoother playback and reduced motion blur.
**Fifth, Picture Quality Settings**

In the playback interface, you can choose from seven modes: Standard, Evening Theater, UMAX Theater, High-Quality Music, Madden Sports, SDR to HDR, and Custom. The UMAX Theater mode delivers the best picture quality, while the Evening Theater mode lowers brightness for eye comfort in dim lighting.

If none of the preset modes suit your taste, you can customize settings such as contrast, brightness, saturation, sharpness, and color temperature.

You can also adjust playback speed, subtitle loading, and audio tracks. Advanced settings include true color optimization, motion enhancement, noise reduction, depth adjustment, and sound tuning.
**Sixth, Summary & Evaluation**
TVs are bought for their performance, and picture quality is the main concern for most users. A high-quality screen is essential, and it's not just about the material—it's about how the technology enhances the final output. Just like a camera, even if the lens is good, the overall image depends on other factors like color and lighting.

The Changhong CHiQ 55Q5N is an AI-focused smart TV with impressive picture quality. It combines advanced technologies like the UMAX engine, HDR, and dot matrix light control. From what I’ve seen, it offers a great user experience, and "exquisite" is the perfect word to describe it.
