Recently, I've been looking for a 55-inch TV, mainly to enjoy high-definition movies. Over the past few years, I've been waiting for fiber-optic broadband to be available in my residential area, and I've also collected dozens of 4K movies that I haven't had the chance to watch yet. However, my requirements for a TV go beyond just a large screen and good picture quality. I want a TV that can easily support my movie sources, with a smooth system that's easy to use and brings convenience to my daily life. If you're someone who shares similar needs, I believe this TV won't disappoint you.
**First, the unboxing**

The TV came in a large, white box made from colored cardboard rather than regular cardboard. The front of the box features a big "CHiQ" logo, and there's a bee-like robot next to it, indicating that the Changhong CHiQ series is an AI-powered TV.

The box includes multiple reminders to handle the screen carefully. I received the Star Blue version, but another option called Moonlight Silver is also available.

Inside the package, there are several metal buttons that help protect the TV better than simple plastic wrap.

After opening the box, I found the TV well-protected by thick foam padding. The two stands were placed on top and were easy to lift out.

Both stands were wrapped in paper bags, and yellow and white tapes helped distinguish left and right legs for easier installation. The stands felt heavy and were made of high-strength aviation aluminum, showing excellent craftsmanship.

The package included manuals, warranty cards, remote controls, power cords, batteries, wall brackets, screws, and base screws.

When installing the stand, it’s important to move the TV to the desk with the screen facing down and use the air cushion provided to protect it.

Looking at the back of the TV, there are various ports: a power connector, 4-way keys, a network interface, digital audio output, two HDMI ports, red and white AV video interfaces, an antenna port, and two USB ports (one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0).

The stand was inserted into the corresponding hole and fixed with four screws. Make sure to align the octagonal anti-slip part correctly.

In addition to air cushions and plastic covers, the screen was also protected by a final layer of plastic film, which was removed before use.

With a 55-inch screen, the size is not too small, and the screen-to-body ratio is very high. The all-metal narrow frame design makes the TV both stylish and modern.
**Second, the Boot Wizard**

On the first boot, you need to go through a setup process, including connecting to Wi-Fi, logging in, setting up your region, and installing an app. Everything is done step by step, which is quite user-friendly. After setup, the system will prompt you to update, and it’s recommended to do so for better performance.
**Third, Remote Control Design**

This remote control feels great. Its streamlined design improves grip comfort. It has a red and white gray color scheme, giving it a premium look, unlike the usual black or white remotes.
**Fourth, Quality Performance**

Changhong recently launched two series: Q5N and Q5A. The Q5N focuses on AI experience, while the Q5A uses OLED backlight technology. This 55-inch Q5N uses an LED backlight with a 4K AAA+ panel, but its image quality is impressive.

It features 4096-dot matrix light control, allowing more intelligent and precise brightness control. This results in much lower light leakage and nearly perfect black levels, almost like OLED.

With 4K resolution and HDR technology, details like hair and fabric textures are clearly visible, even down to individual strands of hair. HDR enhances dynamic range, making dark scenes more detailed without overexposure.

This TV uses the original color true color engine, which accurately restores color signals, resulting in natural color transitions and wide color gamut coverage.

It also supports MEMC motion compensation, increasing 25-frame videos to 60 frames for smoother playback and reducing motion blur in fast scenes.
**Fifth, Picture Quality Settings**

In the playback menu, you can choose from seven modes: Standard, Evening Theater, UMAX Theater, High-Quality Music, Madden Sports, SDR to HDR, and My Mode. UMAX Theater offers the best picture quality, while Evening Theater reduces brightness for eye comfort in low-light environments.

If none of the preset modes suit your taste, you can adjust settings like contrast, brightness, saturation, and color temperature in the custom menu.

You can also adjust playback speed, subtitles, and audio tracks. Advanced settings allow you to fine-tune color, motion optimization, noise reduction, and sound effects.
**Six, Evaluation Summary**
TVs are bought for their performance, and picture quality is the most important factor. While the screen takes up more than 60% of the cost, it's not just about the material—it's about how the technology behind it delivers the best visual experience.

The Changhong CHiQ 55Q5N is a smart TV with a powerful AI system. It combines advanced technologies like the UMAX engine, HDR, and dot matrix lighting to deliver excellent image quality. Overall, it's a well-designed and highly functional TV that offers a great user experience.
