Pulsed air technology saves up to 35% of gun operation

May 17, 2017 – Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technology, has officially released its newly developed pneumatic HASV throttle module for use in spray guns. The HASV is designed to emit pulsed air instead of continuous air, reducing air consumption and power consumption by up to 35%.

Spray guns are widely used in various factories around the world. Machine manufacturers, production equipment, assembly plants, and electronics factories use spray guns to remove contaminants such as dust, metal powders, and liquids. However, such devices are mainly used for continuous blowing technology, while continuous blowing technology cannot achieve low energy consumption or good environmental qualification. As a result, Parker developed the HASV throttle module to generate both pulsed air and minimized pressure drop during short (30 minutes) shutdowns, maintaining the same efficiency as continuous jet technology.

HASV is the latest version of Parker's pneumatic throttle series since 2015. This tightly assembled part produces high power. In addition, HASV represents a safe, easy to control, and environmentally friendly technology. All factories and workshops can transition from continuous jets to pulse jets as a simple entry point for obtaining environmental certificates.

We experimented with a customer's factory in the United States, and installed a gas-saving module on all 50 spray guns on the entire line, and our customers have gained huge profits. The factory has calculated that at a pressure level of 5 bar (0.5 Mpa), if the total operation is 120 minutes per day, the reduced energy consumption is equivalent to about 5,500 euros of electricity (based on 240 days per year).

The HASV throttle module has other advantages. For example, because the regulator is not required, the compressor's working time is reduced and the noise is reduced, which reduces the compressor load and saves maintenance costs. More importantly, it is realized. These do not have any effect on jet pressure or air flow.

The HASV throttle module is designed to be used in some typical applications, such as factories that need to remove manifolds, engine blocks, blind holes in die castings, and metal chips or chips on threaded holes, as well as parts or products after cleaning. Water or detergent drying facilities, etc.
