On September 26, Hisense officially unveiled its first 80-inch 4K laser television ahead of the "Microblogging Television Impact Festival." This launch marks a significant expansion in the company’s laser TV product lineup, which now includes models in 80-inch, 88-inch, 100-inch, and 120-inch sizes. Particularly in the 80–100 inch segment, which is the core market for home entertainment, Hisense has led the industry into the 4K era. The 80-inch 4K laser TV was launched on Tmall with an initial price of 34,999 yuan, making it a competitive option in the ultra-large screen LCD TV market, where average prices exceed 40,000 yuan.
Since the start of this year, laser TVs have become one of the most promising segments in the television industry. Leading companies like Hisense, along with internet firms and traditional projector manufacturers, have all entered the laser TV development arena. Thanks to Hisense's efforts, laser TVs are gaining popularity due to their immersive viewing experience, eye-friendly design, and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional large-screen TVs. According to data from China Yikang, in the 80-inch or larger ultra-large TV market, nearly one out of every two TVs sold is a Hisense laser TV.
Wang Wei, Deputy General Manager of Hisense Laser Display Co., Ltd., stated that the new 80-inch model is positioned as an entry-level product, aiming to bring more families into the living room cinema experience earlier. Most Chinese households have living rooms with a viewing distance of 3–4 meters, and laser TVs, due to their reflective imaging technology and eye-friendly brightness, are more flexible in terms of placement. An 80-inch laser TV can provide a comfortable viewing experience within this range, making it well-suited for the typical family environment.
In addition to its excellent picture quality, the 4K laser TV also offers a wide range of smart content services. It provides access to high-quality online video content, including movies, TV series, sports, and variety shows. Its resource library, update speed, and user experience are among the best in the industry. The full-school education feature focuses on the latest online applications, while the elderly university service offers practical educational content such as health clinics and interest classes.
According to Zhong Yikang's market forecast, the National Day Golden Week will see a surge in demand for large-screen TVs, especially those over 80 inches. These models are expected to play a key role in the market. Over the next three years, the growth rate of the 80-inch and above large-screen TV market is projected to reach around 100%.
