The 05L0380R switching power supply circuit offers several advantages, including a simple peripheral design, a wide input voltage adaptation range, high efficiency, minimal radiation, and a stable output voltage. These integrated circuits are commonly used in well-known brands like Amoi and BBK. However, detailed articles explaining the working principles and maintenance methods of this type of power supply circuit are relatively scarce. During my repair work on an Amoi 8250 DVD player, I took the opportunity to draw the power supply circuit diagram (as shown in Figure 1). Combining my practical experience and consulting relevant materials, I wrote this article to provide useful insights for other maintenance professionals. When testing different types of optocouplers, it's recommended to use the R Ã— 10k setting on a multimeter for detection. To avoid unnecessary complications, substitution is often the best approach. For example, consider a case where the image plays normally, but there is no sound on any channel. Based on the symptoms, the fault might be related to the audio digital/analog conversion circuit, the audio analog amplification circuit, or the power supply circuit. Following the principle of tackling easier issues first, we directly measured the voltage at the F2 +12V and -12V terminals. We discovered that the output voltage for -12V was only -3.6V. Since the input voltage to the uP06 (7912) was normal, it indicated that the uP06 was damaged. The problem was resolved after replacing the uP06. Another instance involved a machine that failed to boot at all. Upon inspection, it was evident that the machine had been struck by lightning. Opening the cover revealed that the AC fuse FP01 (1.6A250V) was blown and charred, confirming a severe short circuit issue. Further testing showed that the UP012 pin was grounded, and both pins 3 and 4 of UP02 were also short-circuited and damaged. Replacing these faulty components and re-energizing the system resulted in normal output voltages (with the power supply disconnected). After reconnecting the plug to the motherboard, the machine was fully functional. These examples highlight the importance of systematic troubleshooting and understanding the underlying principles of power supply circuits. While challenges may arise, careful analysis and appropriate replacement of damaged components can restore functionality effectively.
