In 1998, after graduating from Tsinghua University's Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Fu Yu entered the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, specializing in microelectronics and solid state electronics, where he began his indissoluble bond with LED technology. “My master's tutor is the first person in China to convert GaN LED from laboratory to production. Under his influence, I first came into contact with LED technology, and I have been doing research in this area since then.” Say.

Innovative breakthrough in epitaxial structure and epitaxial quality optimization of AlGaN/GaN high-speed switching devices on 8-inch silicon substrates, which not only promotes voltage, leakage, current collapse and other parameters of 8-inch silicon substrate AlGaN/GaN high-speed switching devices. Significantly improved, and the high-speed switching device parameter consistency on the 8-inch silicon substrate is fundamentally resolved.

"They think that we only have some of the remaining elimination technologies in China. I felt that as a Chinese, we must contribute to China's development and upgrade our Chinese technology and industry."

For overseas high-level talents, returning to the country means that everything has to start from scratch. In December 2014, Fu Yi resolutely returned to China and joined Jingneng Optoelectronics (Jiangxi) Co., Ltd. He said, "Chinese people have better opportunities in China."

After returning to China to join Jingneng Optoelectronics, Fu Wei once again innovated and upgraded the technology and repeated iterations. “For silicon substrates, the larger the size, the cheaper it is, but the corresponding production difficulty is also greatly increased, especially in terms of controlling light efficiency and product yield. In order to improve light efficiency and yield, I spent four in the United States. After five years of research, I have done trials no less than a thousand times. I finally mastered the buffer layer technology to improve the light efficiency and control the uniformity of the temperature field to ensure the yield.” Fu said, “The crystal energy at that time can only be achieved. 2 inches, and the light effect is not very good. After I returned to China, I did some work on the upgrade of the size and the improvement of the light performance. At present, the light efficiency has increased by 15% to 20%, and the yield has increased to 90. %. These mean that our products are no longer only able to work in the low-end market, but in the high-end market such as mobile phone flash, car headlights."

At present, the crystal substrate chip of Jingneng Optoelectronics is mainly made up of 4 inches in size this year, and 6 inches is in the state of research and development. It is planned to realize mass production of 4 inches and 6 inches in the next year, and gradually realize mass production of all 6 inches.
