LEDinside approached the packaging company Yiguang, interviewed Mr. Liu Bangyan, the general manager of the Greater China Business Marketing Group of Everlight Electronics Manufacturing Group, to talk about the post-lighting era and the industrial layout of Yiguang Electronics.
Market recovery, multi-threaded layout
According to the latest LEDinside statistics, the LED packaging market in mainland China was 8.8 billion US dollars in 2015, with an annual growth rate of only 2%. In 2016, the demand for lighting manufacturers to replenish stocks came out, which led to an increase in the rate of LED chip manufacturers, and the market showed signs of recovery. The LED packaging market in mainland China is 9.3 billion US dollars, with an annual growth rate of 5%.
Yiguang used the performance to prove this. According to the Yiguang Q1 quarterly report, 2016Q1 revenue was NT$6.951 billion, down 3.9% from the same period last year, and the gross profit margin was as high as 25%, a record high in the past five seasons.
Liu Bangyan told LEDinside that the current production capacity of Yiguang is 4800kk. According to the current expansion schedule, the capacity after expansion is about 5800kk. Among them, consumer electronics such as small pitch and flashlight account for 30%, infrared IR accounts for 25%, and backlight accounts for 19%. Lighting accounts for 20% and cars account for the remaining 6%.
Enhance competitiveness, upgrade and optimize competitive products
In terms of small spacing, Liu Bangyan said that the positioning of the small spacing has been reduced from the original 2.5 to 2.0. The following 2.0 can only use 1010 or 0808, or even smaller 0606 and 0505. At present, the world's largest supply of small-pitch and the best-selling is Yiguang. In 2015, Yiguang's small-pitch turnover accounted for 8%, so the development and positioning of small-pitch, the future of Yiguang's small spacing The market is still big. At the same time, in order to cope with the market demand, Everlight has expanded the production capacity of small-pitch from the current 600KK to Q3 1000KK, and will not rule out additional expansion in the future.
In terms of DOB, it is assembled by Yiguang's own 2835 series. It has various wattages and sizes. The circle has φ33 and φ90, and the square has 33x33mm, 50x50mm and 180x80mm. The Yiguang DOB has easy assembly and saves driver cost. And the advantages of dimming, it is in line with the needs of downlights, ceiling lights and bulb ball applications.
According to Liu Bangyan, the main push of Yiguang is the European and American markets. Because some supermarkets in the European and American markets have their own brands, but they are not familiar with the supply chain, they will buy such semi-finished products and manufacture them locally.
In terms of lighting components, Yiguang has a complete lighting solution, among which the 2835 series is the most prominent.
